"The true purpose of my painting is to reproduce the feeling a scene has made upon me, while at the same time awakening an emotion in the viewer`s mind".

Joe started to draw as a young boy inspired by the work of the Great Masters as well as the beauty of the landscape of his native Italy and its surrounding sea. He immigrated with his family to New Jersey in 1958 where he honed his skills in drawing, painting, color and design at the Newark School of Fine Arts. His specialties include : figurative, landscape, still life and photo-realistic painting.

Upon completion of U.S. military service in 1966 , Joe went on to enjoy a successful career in advertising ultimately reaching the pinnacle in his profession as Senior Master Pictorial Artist. In 37 years as a commercial artist he has painted and assisted in the design of thousands of works of art, including notable pieces for 20th Century Fox Studios, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dennis Hopper as well reproductions of works by Marc Chagall and Leonardo Da Vinci.

He has appeared on numerous television programs and was the featured artist on the "World Craft Series" ( Japanese Public Television ), which studied the artistic technique used in his 14 foot x 48 foot recreation of a Marc Chagall work exhibited for LACMA in 1997.

Joe was selected to design and paint a portrait of Father Hidalgo, which is part of the Los Angeles City Art Collection and is exhibited annually on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall for the annual El Grito celebration.

His work has been widely exhibited at art shows and galleries throughout Southern California, including being honored with Best of Show distinction at the following :
"Salon of Art" Ebell Art Exhibit - 1984
